A local favorite, and I have no idea why this is. Clearly, the local standards are low when it comes to fast food. This is Hawaiian fast food. Got it. BUT, some foods are not meant to be quickly prepared, like, say, a steak for example. And this is why you won't see Burger King serving steaks. Burger king doesn't know much, but you don't see Burger King trying to sell fast steak. We tried the teriyaki steak plate and the grilled ahi plate. The steak was marginal. It wasn't offensive or anything, but it was clear the focus of this dish was on the sauce in which the steak was bathing and sorry, but you don't have to go very far to find good teri sauce. The ahi was just rubbish. It was dry and unpleasant to chew. That's about as nice as I can be with the ahi. Typically I'd give a pass to the plate if at least the mac salad is decent, but to my dismay, the mac salad wasn't even good. I also felt like the wait time as excessive given the condition of the food. Not sure we'll be back to this place.

To be honest, I was debating about going in because there are some pretty bad reviews on Yelp about Loco Moco Drive Inn. Well I sucked it up and went in. The restaurant was not dirty (they were actually cleaning the floor) and the staff was friendly. I was curious about the roasted turkey but it wasn't fresh so I opted for a small Mochiko Chicken. The food was okay. Nothing spectacular, but very edible. Even though I ordered a small plate, I had left over food. The portions are generous or maybe I was really not that hungry :p

Came here on a Friday night, and the wait wasn't long. I believe our cashier/waitress was a bit new, so she did need some help describing and ringing in some orders, but we were in no rush. She was friendly and made sure we got exactly what we ordered. Prices are fair, and it was a great plate lunch. The gravy side that my husband requested was only .75, and they hooked him up! Definitely recommend if you don't feel like cooking and it's on your way home. Ordered the loco moco and beef teriyaki plate, and both were perfect. Ample portions, friendly staff. If you are in a rush, call your order in. Great specials, too!

This place has been here for as long as I can remember lol. The pricing is decent, you get a good amount of food. The quality of it is really good! I think you get more than what you pay for The mac salad is on the bland side, which I think is great because I like to add spices (black pepper, Tobasco). If you're not a mac salad fan, I recommend getting all rice or getting toss salad. If you have children that gets easily distracted and you're trying to get them to eat, it's best to avoid this place right after school hours..it's packed with loud and obnoxious kids from the schools located nearby. I used to love coming here when I was pregnant because it was cool, comfy, and clean. I love their roast beef, I get it quite often. I still love coming here. Located in the Ewa Beach Shopping Center, there is a lot of parking available. There's a few other eateries nearby. If you're on a budget but feel like having some good eats, you should check this place out :)

Service was quick and the cashier was nice. Food taste was average but it was fresh and easy to go.

Ordered take out once. Minimal customer service. No smile. No thank you. No eye contact. Just called today to ask, "Hi! How many pieces are there in the deep fried shrimp side order?" I ask really nicely and lady says with a sassy voice, "What do you mean how many pieces?! In a plate or in a platter??" And I said, "Sorry, a side order?" And she snaps, "Side order is one piece!" Oh, ok thanks sassy lady.

The food here is delicious! My favorite dish is the teriaki roast pork. They only have it on certain days as a special. The staff here are always so friendly and the prices are very reasonable. There is a bathroom here for customers and employees and a lot of seating for you and your family. People tend to come in around 8:30pm, half-an-hour before the place closes so i would avoid that time, if possible.

One of my Fave "Local" eateries!!! The Prices are Very Reasonable, they do have a Wide Array of Choices to choose from. And, they Even have Steak!!! They Serve Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. And, if you need a quick, no frills out the door kind of meal? Try their Hot Dog Bento...Which entails: Hot Dogs, Furikake Rice, BBQ Meat, and a Slice of Spam ( I believe)! The Take out Restaurant is a little old, but then It's been at that location for a while! But, they do try their best to make it clean....the ladies that work there are always Friendly & Smiling! And, a BONUS for me....It's Close to My Mom's House! The Food is Very Good, and it does get busy during Lunchtime...So My Suggestion: Call it in, so You don't have to wait too long! The Parking can be a Hassle since it is in a Shopping Mall, but if You're Patient...You can find a Good Spot! =)

I have a new weakness, and it's here at the Ewa Loco Moco.... their roast duck is killer!!! Anything with the duck is great. . or just take the duck home, but my latest tummy killer is the roast duck saimin, just awesome flavor, the noodles are not my favorite they are too soft for me but the taste of the duck and the soup makes up for any other short comings.. nothing fancy but just simple happiness in a bowl.

The food is fantastic! I ordered the BBQ plate and it was the perfect amount to be shared with my husband. Service was a bit slow and it took awhile to get our table cleaned, but you come to a place like this for the food, not the atmosphere, and the food was great! Staff was also very friendly :) I'd definitely come back.

Went there around 8 after going to radio shack. It was between loco moco and the korean bbq next door. Being that usually all loco moco places are BOMB we went in. Hubby got the mixed plate of roast pork and bbq chicken he said the chicken was ono but roast pork was old tasting and just plain nnnaaasssttyy!!! I got the hamburger steak and must i say never again! Worst hamburger steak ever!!! Some parts were hard and other parts were rubbery other than that service was great wished the food could be better. Other than that most likely never going there again!

I like this place. Greasy but pretty good (bring back the Braised Beef!). Like that fact they serve hapa rice, too. Also, very consistent. For about $9.00 you get a nice heavy lunch plate. Friendly staff, although sometimes the wait can get a little long. Staff has even gone so far as to throw in a free drink when I've waited especially long.

Locomoco Ewa beach is the best place around Ewa to grab a bite. For many reasons Pricing is very good for the amount of food that is included in a regular plate. The food is cooked literally right in front of you since they have a big open kitchen, which is rare for a local takeout restaurant, I like this since there is no wondering, "what's going on back there?" it's also very clean. They offer brown rice. They have some really great "super saimin's" (i know Shiro's is around the corner but I'd take a Locomoco saimin over a Shiro's saimin anyday) They offer great daily specials (fresh seared ahi, pot roast, roast beef, stuffed chicken, stuffed ahi) these change everyday so call ahead if there is something your looking for. The best part is the service. This business is family owned and operated (which I also like) and they will treat you as family when you come in. One of the managers, Gabe is awesome and does everything he can to make sure that your visit is enjoyable. They also have ample seating and parking if you wanna meet a few friends to eat and a really nice fishtank. I will continue to support this business as long as I'm around.

I just trip! Over priced food and place is always dirty yet they are still in business??? Wtf? I don't know why I still go here it's like I forget all the bad experiences I've had in the past.

First off, I went right after both Ilima Intermediate and Campbell High School got off from school... bad idea. It's noisy with teenage chatter, rampant swearing fills the room, while kids sit on top of tables and run around the restaurant. The staff was nice enough to tolerate the kids, allowing them to run a muck in the restaurant. I guess they bring in business, though the craziness just lost my interest in eating here regularly. The food is another gripe I had, I had the hamburger steak and chicken katsu curry combo, it came out to almost $8. $8 for a burnt piece of frozen hamburger meat, a little bit of brown gravy, and fatty beef curry. The only saving grace for this disgrace of a plate lunch was the chicken katsu, which thankfully wasn't ALL breaded material. I actually got to taste some chicken! The mac salad was OK, but I rather drive 2 miles down and get some zippy's mac. This place gets 2 stars, they were kind enough to apologize for the noise their other customers were making and parking was a cinch to find despite it being prime time lunch time. I however wouldn't recommend the place unless you prefer sub par plate lunches... and headaches during the afternoon weekday hours.

By far this is one of the cleanest drive-inns on Oahu, aside from the Loco-Moco located by the NEX pearl harbor. The food is awesome, I always order the Teri beef, chicken katsu, and beef curry. The portions are great, just perfect!

i live right up the road from loco Moco. i usually go there about once a week if you ever go there you will notice that you can see the whole kitchen area so its always very clean(witch is a big problem in most other restaurants the big ones) i love the roast turkey they serve there.they just made it part of their menu about a year ago.i always try to order the stuffed chicken there also. that is always hit or miss because the specials always change and there is no guarantee they will have it. another great thing about this place is the stir fry which is always made fresh and they will even go out of their way to customize your order so you get what you want .all you gotta do is ask and they will accommodate your order the best they can. i am a fan of Loco Moco in Ewa Beach because its one of the cleanest best tasting and cheapest places in the Ewa area.

Since this is around the corner from my friend's house we stop here after flying in. My friend orders the loco moco which is the norm and they are ok with it. They are so hungry I don't think they care. I was looking for Kahlua pork, but didn't see it anywhere except to order it for catering (next time I'll ask). So I ordered the chicken katsu which is super easy to make so how could anyone mess it up? Well from looking at the food it looks tasty, but as you look closer, the katsu was very fatty which I found very weird. I've never seen fatty katsu chicken. The macaroni had so much mayo I couldn't eat it and for macaroni I'm normally not that picky since I just mix it with the food. Here are some good things, they gave a lot of sauce and a lot of rice. They funny thing is they sold purses for $10. The bad, there are no restrooms even for customers. Now that is pretty crappy.

Friend - Excuse me...do you have that dish with an egg and hamburger patty over rice topped with gravy...what do you call it? Cashier - You mean Loco Moco? Friend - Oh yeah, that's it...what was I thinking...of course you do, or you wouldn't be Loco Moco Drive Inn. So many Hawaiian Drive Inns and plate lunch restaurants, how can you choose? Let the locals take you to their favorites. I can only comment that the Loco Moco here is pretty good. The hamburger patties though, were nothing to rave about. They were a little thin and of the freezer bag variety. Gravy was good and comparable to L&L. I'll have to try the Mochiko Chicken or grill plate to firm up my rating. But for now, a decent alternative to L&L.

Pretty much your average take out place. The regular loco moco is too much for one person. And its tasty too. Everything else is your standard plate lunch, nothing really stands out. Good value.

It was very difficult to rate this restaurant. I was attracted to it by the name, whose namesake is a local favorite. The loco moco is good but my absolutely favorite? Shoyu chicken!! I've tried the shoyu chicken at different restaurants and was disappointed. Loco Moco has, by far, the best shoyu chicken! Always cooked just right with the perfect amount of sauce. Now be warned, shoyu chicken isn't on the regular menu. It is served on Wednesdays and Fridays but also be warned that once they run out of it, that's it. They don't make any more. They serve it in mini and regular portions. The mini is two thighs, rice, and salad (you have your choice between mac and tossed). The regular is three thighs, rice, and salad. I get the mini because I can barely finish it!! The service is mediocre...unless they know you. Even being a regular there, I couldn't seem to "get in" with the employees. Oh well. I am there for the food anyway!

Food is bland here. I usually eat all of my mac salad but all it was just macaroni and a bunch of mayo. YUCK!!!

Love the food it is always consistent and the same! The Teri beef sandwich is a fave of mine! The husband always gets a combo with the fish! I love ordering their pans for when we have parties! Their prices are reasonable and they are always accommodating too!

This place is alright. Been here couple times now, its just like any other local drive inn restaurant. The staff are always nice and ready to get your order. And the food is OK, the last couple times I ordered: seafood combination plate- OK, mahi mahi plate- OK, Loco Moco- OK and recently the grilled shrimp- OK There isn't that much for me to dislike or really like this place unless you live near this restaurant and hang out here with your friends.

This is my favorite place to pickup food. Everything is cooked really well. The employees always greet you with a smile when you walk in. If you go there enough times, you'll get to know the workers and they'll remember you and your order.

Wife and I stopped her touring the island. She got the Loco Moco I had beef chow mein. Hers wasn't the best. Hamburger Patty was straight out of the freezer, very cheap tasting and bland. My chow mein was okay, although noodles around the edge had a crunch too them but the meat was good and noodles under the meat and sauce were perfectly cooked. The place itself wasn't in great shape, but not nasty either. Other locations may be better, but we wouldn't go here again.

Tried the roast port. I thought it was going to be Filipino style but it turned out to be more Chinese style. It was seriously the best roast port I've had that I can recall. Tender, moist and not too fatty. I've enjoyed the teriyaki steak, mochiko chicken and furukake fish before and give all these selections high marks. I will have to go back again to decide which is my favorite.

My husband wanted to try something new so we decided to here for dinner one night. We've gone back a few times to try different things, but their food is just OK, I really was not impressed. We got the garlic shrimp with mahi mahi and rice once and that was probably the best thing I've ever had from here. We also got a combo plate which was pretty good too but nothing special.

I personally love this Loco Moco. Right off of Fort Weaver, in the same area that McDonalds and Longs are located. My fiance introduced me to here when we first started dating because he often came here with his friends in high school and always shared stories with me as we ate. Plate lunches are the typical $6+ just iike anywhere else. Just take note that you have to spend a minimum of $7 if you plan on using a card as payment. The workers here are always nice, and very patient with us while we sit down and take forever to figure out what we wanna eat, even if we always end up ordering the same thing every single time. But I must say, they have the BEST mochiko chicken on the island. Not sure what it is, but it's most def the tastiest. Another difference with it is that they don't cut their chicken up into smaller pieces which I thought was odd at first but you grow used to it.

You must and I mean MUST try the roast Chinese meats here...and yes, this is a Loco Moco Drive Inn! Owner Eric Wong made the best business decision to add these to menu. The Chinese Roast Pork is the bomb. Its super delicious, tender, fatty, and crunchy bits of heaven. It is some serious competition to the mainstay Chinese take out. The Roast Duck is killer. And again its a Loco Moco drive inn with all the foods we all know so well. Roast duck saimin anyone? Its so good, I picked up a tray for a Super Bowl Party in Aina Haina! Don't doubt, stop in and try, it wont disappoint and there's brown rice for those that feel guilty.

To pricey for food that taste like you came make better at home on your own. I'm speaking of the hamburger steak I ordered. Not to mention when I got home the mad salad had that boarder-line smell of getting spoiled.
